Getting Started

This app allows you to play YouTube videos in a small, resizable window that stays on top of other windows. To play a video, first find it on youtube.com, then find the Video ID from the URL and copy it. The video ID is shown in bold here: ("https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEOID"). After you've got the Video ID, click/tap the drop-down arrow in the title bar and select "Video ID" and paste the video ID in the text box with Ctrl + V or right click/tap and hold and then paste). You can also just copy and paste the entire video URL or drag and drop it onto the app.

Drag and Drop a Video

You can also drag and drop a video onto the app to open it.

Video Controls

The app also has many video control options, some of which are only available via keyboard shortcuts. You can access skip and play/pause options via the title bar and more commands through the Video and Playlist menus in the drop down menu.

Tip: You can right click or tap and hold on the skip ahead and skip back buttons to skip 1 frame instead of 5 seconds.

Windows 10 Media Controls

This app integrates into Windows 10's media controls in version 3 and newer. When you use media hotkeys or buttons on your device, media controls will show in the top left corner of your screen. Use these or your media hotkeys to control YouTube videos being played in YouTubeMiniPlayer.
